It is located in Morigoan city in Assam. It is home to many animals and bird species, called the ‘Bharatpur of the east’. Things to do at Pobitora Sanctuary:

Safari ride:

The Safari ride gives you a fantastic tour of the entire sanctuary. During your ride, you can stop at different animals and watch them. One-horned rhinos are a unique attraction of this place as they are rare animals. You can see other wildlife species in this sanctuary. The Safari ride lasts 1-2 hrs.

Riverboat ride:

A boat ride on Gagra Bheel, where Bheel means pod or lake. You can try boating that goes a few rounds on the pond, giving the riders an exciting experience. While boating, you can see ducks and geese floating in the lake with different flowers and water plants. This lake has other fish in it.

Elephant rides:

Many people visit this place to walk on the Haduk Water bridge built on the lake. This bridge looks similar to the Howrah bridge in Kolkata. The background of green trees and a beautiful lake make the walk even more attractive.

The sanctuary is home to many bird species. You can see different birds as October begins because the birds migrate here. This place can be exciting for bird lovers and ornithologists. While walking in the park, you can see birds like Little egrets, Black-necked stroke, and Lesser Whistling teal.

Best time to visit:

The best time to visit this place is when the sky is clear. This is because, during rainy seasons, you cannot go on a safari ride, boating, or walk in the sanctuary. Rain makes the tour difficult. So, visit it between October- May.
