Under the Qutub Shahi dynasty, Lake 1518–1687), this Lake served as the water source for the residents of the Lake Golkonda fort. The Lake was inaugurated on August 28, 2018, by Mr K.T. Rama Rao. It is also called Lake the ‘Madhapur Lake.’

Durgam Cheruvu Cable Bridge:
It is a tourist place, and many Telugu film scenes have been shot. The Cable Bridge is an extra dose bridge in Hyderabad. The bridge is located near Ino Bit Mall at Madhapur. The Cable bridge connects Jubilee Hills with the Financial District and eases traffic to Madhapur across Durgam Cheruvu. Each pillar has one cable on each side. The hanging bridge has a 309.8-meter-long viaduct and ramps. The width of the footpath on both sides of the bridge is 1.8 meters.

Background Behind Cable Bridge:
The city experienced traffic due to the increasing number of cars, and the Jubilee Hills to Madhapur, which historically took 30 minutes, began to take 40–60 minutes. The Government of Telangana proposed a Cable bridge through Durgam Lake to ease traffic in the area and cut travel time to 10 minutes.
The Architecture of Cable Bridge:
The Cable Bridge is 233.85 in length. It was built at the cost of around 84 crore rupees. A whopping amount of 428 tonnes of a high-tensile strand, 4,800 metric tonnes of steel, 287 tonnes of stay-cables, and 26,600 cubic meters of concrete were to build this massive bridge. I have 52 stay cables. Larsen and Turbo constructed it (L&T), brought from Germany.

Durgam Cheruvu Water School:
The water school started training children above eight in Kayaking, Sailing, Windsurfing, stand-up paddle boarding, and many other water sports. The Telangana government launched the first water school at Durgam Lake on Saturday to impart training related to waterboarding. Training from Nursery to National, Asian, and Olympic levels is also provided at the new school.
The new facility is expected to produce more champions in the city with a Kayaking rate per session of Rs 1,400 and a sum of Rs 5,60 for five sessions. While surfing and stand-up paddle boarding are priced the same, a fee of Rs 9,500 has been fixed for 12 sessions of sailing.
