Thiruparappu Waterfall is among the most fascinating and visited places in Kanyakumari tourism. There is a 2000-year-old Shiva temple near this waterfall. Raja Raja Chola built Mahadev Temple in the 6th century. Thiruparappu waterfall Timings are from 7 am to 6 pm.

There is also a swimming pool near the temple for parents and children. Due to the proximity of this waterfall to the small village, the roads are not so good.

The beauty of Thiruparappu Waterfall

This fall is one of the most beautiful, elegant, and famous waterfalls in the Kanyakumari district. Thiruparappu Falls is also known as “Kumari Kutralam.” It locates 42 km from Nagercoil, 55 km from Trivandrum, and 5 km from Kulasekara.

There are separate bathing areas for males and females. There is an entrance fee.

It is a manufactured waterfall. The waterfall rises from 50 feet at Thiruparappu, originates from the Kodaiyar River, and forms a pool at the base. The length of the waterfall is 300 feet.

The riverbank above is rocky. The waterfall is active and flows energetically for seven months of the year.

A dyke was built to supply water to the paddy fields. A Shiva temple called “Mahadevar Temple” is on the river banks between the waterfalls and Veer.

It is the third of the twelve Shiva temples. The temple had built by Raja Raja Chola in the 9th century and has many inscriptions dating back to the 9th century.

Activities at Thiruparappu Waterfall

It is a beautiful picnic spot for the taste of the people. I was bathing in the waterfalls, enjoying the scenic beauty, taking photos, or exploring a beautiful place.

A park near the waterfall is for children to play and enjoy immensely. There is also a swimming pool. Boating over the falls is also available.

Near the falls is the 2000-year-old Mahadevar Temple. The water drops from 100 feet and bathing in the waterfall is incredible.
