Kudalasangama in India is an important centre of pilgrimage for Lingayats. It had located about 15 kilometres (9.3 mi) from the Almatti Dam in the Bagalkot district of Karnataka state. The Krishna and Malaprabha rivers merge here and flow east towards Srisaila in Andhra Pradesh.
The Aikya Mantapa, or the sacred Samādhi of Basavanna, the creator of the Lingayat sect of Hindu faith along with Linga, who has believed to be self-born (Swayambhu), is here. The Kudala Sangama Development Board takes care of the maintenance and development.
It had believed that in the century of 12th, Jathaveda Muni Sarangamath had set up an education centre here, and Channabasavanna, Basaveshvara, and Akkanagamma were students. Basaveshvara finished his boyhood here, and after his return from Kalyana, he had said to have become one with God at this place.
The vachanas composed by him has dedicated to the presiding deity here, Sangamanatha. Basavanna is a famous prophet and social reformer born in Bagewadi, a small village in Bijapur District in Karnataka called Ingaleshwara Bagewadi. Agrahara was an important place in town.
