Guwahati Planetarium is a great educational and research centre for students and young scientists and was built in 1994. This place has a magnificent and unique distinctive dome and slopping walls that becomes an architectural place. It is the only Planetarium in Assam and northeastern India that gives knowledge about the night sky and solar system. Various shows on night sky are organized in the Planetarium using a Chronos star field projector, with digital HD view and Dolby sky theatres audio.
During the shows, the videos are projected on the dome’s interior walls in English and Assamese. This is the main attraction that attracts many visitors and students. This place is best for an educational tour for students.
The performances are played daily, and this place organizes regular workshops, seminars, conferences and research for students and scientists. They also manage puzzles and quizzes to give academic knowledge.
