Digha Beach Kolkata is the most popular beach resort and tourist destination in West Bengal, and it has located on the coast of the Bay of Bengal in the East Midnapore district. It is a 187 km driving distance southwest of Kolkata. The beach timings are 05:00 am to 06:00 pm.

Beach has a low gradient with a shallow and stiff sand beach with a length that extends to 7 km wide. The beach is girdled with Casuarina plantations along the coast, enhancing the beauty of this place. 

Old Digha Beach & New Digha Beach:

Digha beach is perfect for tourist activities, but it losses beach area rapidly to heavy coastal erosion. Some parts of the Digha beach had concretized to prevent it. Another problem of this Sea beach is overcrowded by tourists, especially in the winter season.

It has congested shops on the beach, sometimes even on the beach. So, a new digha beach has been developed for the tourist as an extension of the Old Digha beach, which is 2 km away, called New Digha. It is much more comprehensive and surrounded by plantations, suitable for aqua-activities.

Best time to visit Digha Beach Kolkata:

The ideal time to visit Digha Beach would be during the winter months, between November and March, when the weather is pleasant with a bit of chill. A monsoon visit between July and September is a moderately ideal time. The evenings are when the temperature dips and tourists can stroll on the beach.

• ATMs are located at Old Digha only; hence, carry sufficient cash while visiting the other secluded beaches.
• Carry emergency lamps or high-resolution torches as there are unplanned power outages, especially during summer.
• It had highly recommended that you carry mosquito repellent and insect repellent. 
• Please do not litter and take your trash to ensure you leave the beaches clean.
