Vedadri Yogananda Narasimha Swamy Temple History:

Vedadri Narasimha Swamy Temple

The history of the Vedrari temple has linked to antiquity. Long ago, when the demon Tarakasura took the Vedas and threw them into the ocean, Lord Brahma worshipped Sri Vishnu and saved them as a fish/Mathsya Avataram. The Vedas took a human form and asked Sri Vishnu to stay on their head. He accepted the request but told them he would only remain there after killing the demon Hiranyakasipu.

He then told them to remain in the Krishnaveni River as Saligrama Mountain. After a few years, the demon Hiranyakasipu had killed by Sri Narasimha Swamy, the avatar of Sri Vishnu. He then returned to Saligrama Mountain as Jwala Narasimha Swamy. As the Vedas stayed on the mountain, it is called Vedadri.
