Bhambavli Vajrai Waterfall Satara is the tallest waterfall in India. The Vajrai Falls are 1840 ft (560m) high and come from a steep hill with three steps. The flow of waterfalls comes from the Urmodi River. Vajrai waterfall timings are from 8 AM to 5 PM.

Best time to visit Vajrai Falls

The best time to visit Vajrai Falls is from June to October. At this point, the waterfall had filled with water. At that same time, the beauty of the surroundings is also beautiful.

There is no accommodation at this place. Accommodation may be available at specific locations in the village of Kos. However, it is convenient for long-distance tourists to stay in Satara.

Kas Pathar

Kas Pathar is a hotspot for biodiversity. Caspian is famous for its various flowers; butterflies bloom from August to October. The Plateau is home to 280 species of flowers.

There are 850 species of plants, vines, shrubs and other species. There are also scarce species. About 59 species of reptiles were found in the Kas Patra. The Kos Plateau is 5-7 km from Vajrai to Vajrai Falls.

Mahabaleshwar

Mahabaleshwar is a hill station and a tourist destination located throughout the Satara District and has been visited by tourists throughout the year.

It is located in the Western Ghats range, with excellent air and picturesque beauty. Mahabaleshwar has been the best hill station since British times and is still famous today. The distance from Vajrai Falls to Mahabaleshwar is less than 50km.

Urmodi Dam

The Urmodi Dam is located at a distance of 40 km from Vajrai. The Maharashtra government has sanctioned the Urmodi Irrigation Dam near Parali village in the Satara district.

The state government approved the decision in 1981. It estimates the project would affect 1,528 hectares of land from 23 villages.

In 1994, the dam capacity had increased, and nine more villages were added to the affected zone, bringing the total number of affected people to 3,898 families.

Thoseghar Falls

Thoseghar Falls is located at a distance of 50 km from Vajrai. The magnificent Thoseghar Falls is located near the village of Thoseghar, 20 km from Satara in Maharashtra. Thoseghar Falls is a range of waterfalls, some 15-20 m high, but fall from a maximum height of 200 m.

The main attraction of Thoseghar Falls is the serene landscape with thunderous water. The viewing platform lets you get a complete view of the beautiful waterfalls.

How to reach

Vajrai Waterfall Satara is located in the Sahyadri Range, so there is no direct route to this place. Trekking is the only way to get close to the falls. If you want to go here, you must come to Bhambavali first.

The trek begins from Bhambavali village and goes to where the waterfall is located. Some facilities are available to reach Bhambavali, so visiting this place in your vehicle is convenient.

By Road:

It is convenient to see this place by own vehicle.

To get to this place, you have to come to Kas first. There is a better road from Satara to Kas village. Bhambavali village is located at a distance of 10 minutes from Kos.

By Railway:

The nearest railway station is Satara. There are options to reach here by bus or cab from Satara.

By Air:

The nearest airport is Pune Airport. Satara should come from Pune.

By Bus:

Buses are available from Satara to Kas village.
