Devotees choose Suprabhaatam and Thomala seva to go a little nearer Lord Venkateshwara Swamy’s diety. The Thomala seva timings are from 3 AM, and we can book tickets from TTD online.
All the other sevas are outside the temple only with complementary darshan.
The word Thomala is from the Tamil word Thoditta Malai which means worn garlands. The other meaning is a garland of flowers.
It is a Seva to decorate Venkateswara Swami with all kinds of flowers. Floral handicraft made by the Chief Minister to Srinivasa Swami. The seva begins after the Nijaroopa or Vishwaroopa darshanam.
The blooming laurels should be cut into small pieces, each part of a certain size, and decorated in special zones to enhance the divine glory of God spectacularly. The seva is only available on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
The Seva lasts about 30 minutes. Its earned Seva is only available on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays in solitude (travellers are not allowed) during the rest of the week.
For most Sevas, travellers had to follow traditional dress rules: dhoti around the waist and uttariya (upper garment) on the shoulder for men and sari salwar for women.
