It receives a lot of visitors in Tamil Nadu. On Chennai’s beautiful ECR route is a little hamlet known as Injambakkam. The location is known as Saipuram. There is a lot of greenery nearby, so even in the height of heat, it is pleasant and shaded. People of various religions can find tranquillity at the Temple.

The Temple, located outside of Chennai, was built in March 1993 and is situated on 7 acres of ground with a view of the Bay of Bengal. The Shirdi of the South is how it is known. Numerous structures and temples can be found in the temple area. We see a shrine dedicated to Lord Ganesha before getting to the main Temple of Baba.

The architecture of Sai Baba Temple ECR

The magnificent, 100-foot-tall main Temple is a hexagonal building built of white marble. To reach the top, climb concrete ladders. The idol of Shri Sai Baba, depicted in his famed sitting position, was handcrafted from pure white marble. The statue in this location is a duplicate of the one in Shirdi, and Baba also goes by the name Dwarakamayee.

A little Sai Baba temple may be seen as approaching the main temple complex. A bronze statue of Sai Baba is located here. There are no poojas performed here. The shrines to the other gods are located in the following compound. The black stone is used to create the idols of the other deities.

Beside the sanctum is a room where the holy fire (Dhuni), from which the ash (Udi) was collected by Baba and distributed to his devotees, burns continuously. It has been so since Baba’s days. This is a unique feature of the Temple.

Important Features

A main feature of the Baba Temple is a Kalapataru (wish-fulfilling tree).
Devotees here tie a string dipped in turmeric around the tree on Thursdays & Fridays.
It is believed to fulfil their wishes and resolve their problems. Near Baba’s sanctum is a Dhanvanthari tree is there.
Those suffering from various illnesses take nine rounds around the tree and are said to cure their diseases in a few months.
