Madhyamaheshwar Temple is one of the Pancha Kedar temples of Lord Shiva located in Mansuna village in the Garhwal region of Uttarakhand. Madhyamaheshwar Temple timings are from 06:00 am to 07:00 pm.

What is the history of the Madhyamaheswara Temple? 

According to history, the Pandavas founded the Madhyamaheshwar Temple. During the Mahabharata, the Pandavs killed their cousins, the Kaurvas. However, Lord Shiva hides from them and takes the form of a bull. After that, he hides in an underground safe place in Guptkashi.

Later, Shiva’s body parts, like a bull, were reconstructed in five places. The Pandavs built Shiva temples at these five places, known as ‘Pancha Kedar’ (Learn more about Char Dham Yatra). Madhyamaheshwar Temple is the place where they found Shiva’s navel.

Inside the temple’s sanctum sanctorum is a navel-shaped Shiva Lingam made of black stone. There are two other small temples, one for Parvati and the other for Ardhanarishwar.
