It is a well-known fact that Kukke Subramanya Temple is famous for its architecture and geographical structure. But this temple has a great mythological history, with a legend about the Lord. According to the legend, after killing the demon rulers Tharaka and Shurapadmasura, Lord Kumaraswamy visited Kumara Parvatha with his brother Ganesha and other gods.
Lord Indra received them and felt delighted. He asked the Lord to marry his daughter Devasena, which the Lord Kumaraswamy gladly accepted. The divine wedding took place in the Kumara Parvatha on Margashira Shudha Shashti with the god’s blessings. Later, the Lord visited Vasuki, who had been doing Tapas for years in the Biladwara caves. He was doing tapas to protect himself from Garuda’s attack.
After the arrival of the Lord, he requested him to stay with him permanently to avoid any attacks, which the Lord accepted.
