They are dedicated to Hidimba Devi, the wife of Bheem, a mythological character. This temple is a famous religious temple in Himachal Pradesh. The locals religiously worship the deity. History:

Hadimba Devi temple is known for its mythological history. Maharaja Bahadur Singh is a devotee of the deity who built this temple in 1553 around a cave. History helps us to know more about Mahabharata.

Firstly, Hidimbi was a demoness, the sister of Hidimba, a demon and king of the Kamyaka forest. The story says that, during the process where Pandavas hid from Kauravas, they visited Kamyaka forest.

After knowing this, Hidimba asked Hidimba to lure the Pandavas. She went to clear her mission and finally reached Pandavas. But she fell in love with Bheem and decided to help them. She revealed her true self to them and asked Bheem to marry her. He said that he couldn’t stay with her for a long time. She agreed, married him, and got a son within a year.

After Bheem left, she went onto the hills to meditate. She got supernatural powers and became ‘Devi’. She may be from a demon family, but she is kind and helpful. So with respect for her vocals built the temple for her and started doing poojas.
