History of Chilkur Balaji Temple:

Chilkur Balaji Temple

A devotee visits Tirupati for Lord Venkateswara Swamy’s darshan every year but can’t visit Tirupati because of his illness. Lord Venkateswara, moved by his devotion, appeared in his dreams and instructed him to find his idol and construct the Temple.

As indicated by Lord Venkateswara, the devotee found a molehill. He started digging the hill, and the axe struck Lord Balaji’s chin and chest, and the blood flowed. The devotee was surprised and shocked by seeing the ground with blood.

Then he heard a voice saying, “Flood the mole with cow’s milk”. The devotee did so, and the Swayambu Idol of Lord Balaji with Sridevi and Bhoodevi was founded; the devotee then built the Temple.
