History of Beechupally Temple

Beechupally, Anjaneya Swamy Temple was built 200 years ago with South Indian architecture. According to legends, the Idol of Lord Hanuman was installed by Sri Vyasaraja.

After installing, he left and started thinking that he would be moving and going to the place that performs Pooja. That night, Lord Hanuman appeared in his dream and provided a solution. A young tribal boy named Beechupally offered prayers for the Idol daily.

Since then, the place has been called Beechupally, and the Lord is known as “Beechupally Rayudu”. Later, Madhwa Brahmins and Gadwal Rulers can perform rituals at the temple.

Gadwal Rulers will conduct the religious chariot festival annually and support the temple. Every 12 years, Krishna Pushkaras is held.

Devotees believe that the water of the Krishna River during Pushkaras will have supernatural powers. Telangana State government constructed many permanent Ghats for the convenience of the people.
