History of the Temple:

The legend of this Temple revolves around the Mahabharat, the Hindu epic in which Baliaydev, also known as Barbik, is featured. Baliyadev was the son of Gatodkacha and Mauravi, also a great devotee of Lord Shiva. He is famously known as the greatest fighter of the Mahabharata and has three powerful arrows from Asta Deva. The first arrow can mark the object to destroy, the second one can mark the object to save, and the third arrow from the set can destroy anything.

Lord Shri Krishna asked Barbik which side he would take during the war. He said he would take the weaker side because he had promised his mother. Then Lord Shri Krishna said that whichever side he was on was more robust. Eventually, the other side became weaker, so he constantly swung between the two sides without any chance throughout the war.

The Barbik asked the Lord Krishna to place his head to view the whole war. Then he put his head on the top of the mountain with the war view. After many years, the king dreamed about the Barbik head in Khatu. Then he built the Baliyadev Temple in Lambha, now famous for the greatest warrior.
