Hanuman Temple Salangpur is one of India’s holiest and most sacred Hanuman temples. It had considered the most important of the Swaminarayan traditions. Architecture

The temple’s architecture is similar to that of the statue of Hanuman. His face has a handlebar moustache. The idol had shown crushing a demon under his feet. The teeth had shown outwards.

The temple is a three-storied building with sloping roofs and light shades. It makes the temple very aesthetically pleasing.

History of Hanuman Temple Salangpur

There is a lot of history behind this temple. In this temple, Hanuman is seen as a troublemaker because he believes in suppressing the suffering of all the people.

Devotees are waiting in many queues for the opportunity to worship their idol, and god will cure all their ailments. 

The temple is the only Swaminarayan temple dedicated to Lord Hanuman. According to the famous author Raymond Williams, the locals believe that the idol of Hanuman came alive when Sadhguru Gopalananda Swami erected an idol of Hanuman and touched the idol with a rod. 

Based on this story, the ritual of healing had performed in this temple. It had believed that the evil spirits that possess the body of any person would leave the body only once they saw the idol of Hanuman.

According to Hindu mythology, Saturdays are considered the auspicious day to visit the temple as it is a day dedicated to Hanuman. On this day, they also performed a special ritual for people with mental illness.

In 1899, Shastri Yajnapurushadas appointed Kothari Gordhandas of Vadtal to look after all the temple affairs.

He managed to restore the temple during his tenure as head of the temple and also assisted in constructing the neighbouring building, which now serves as a hospice. 

And he also acquired more land, which they would use for the temple premises to bring the temple to its present glory.

Later, the temple will reopen at 3:00 PM and remain open until 9:00 PM. There is no charge for this magnificent temple. The temple is open all days of the week.
