What to see near Buddha Park Patna

Laser show

The laser show is one of the park’s most popular attractions. With a powerful display of water and fountains and minimal assistance from multimedia and technology, the park hosts a simple laser show that invites groups of tourists to the spot. The exhibition tells the story of Bihar, from the Ramayana to the independence of Kunda.

Meditation Centre 

The meditation centre was designed and built in the style of the monasteries in Nalanda. It is a unique and exclusive facility with about 60 cells where you can meditate.

Each of these rooms offers a view of the stupa containing Sakyamuni Buddha’s relics. The temple also has a library of Buddhist books and an audiovisual hall.

Smriti Bagh 

Also known as the Smriti Bagh, also known as the Park of Memories, is a spacious open space in which sculptures from different countries are placed in a beautiful architectural style.

These sculptures symbolize the spread of Buddhism in various countries. The park was designed to seat 5000 people.

Museum at the Park 

Another important attraction is the Museum Park at Buddha Smriti Park. It contains a pot containing Lord Buddha’s ashes.

Other than that, it showcases the life and period of the Buddha through artefacts, 3D models and other audiovisual media.

Pataliputra Karuna Stupa 

The centre and highlight of Buddha Smriti Park is the stupa containing the relics of Sakyamuni Buddha. The remains were deposited in a glass enclosure. The three-storey building is open to the public.

Bodhi Trees 

The garden contains sacred Bodhi trees and fully grown trees collected from Bodh Gaya, India, and Mahameghavana Anuradhapura, Sri Lanka.

Indira Gandhi Planetarium

The Indira Gandhi Planetarium is located in Patna’s Indira Gandhi Science Complex. The Bihar Council built it using Science and technology at a total cost of Rs 11 crore.

It was designed by Bihar Chief Minister Shri Satyendra Narayan Sinha in 1989, laid the foundation stone in October 1989, and inaugurated on March 21, 1993, by the then Bihar Chief Minister Shri Lalu Prasad.

The best time to visit

Winter (October-March) is the perfect time to visit Patna and other parts of Bihar. Summer is sweltering, and sightseeing and activities are not possible. Monsoons should also be avoided, as it is boiling and humid there. It is a great time to visit Patna during the Chhat festival, celebrated only by Biharis.

A group of priests dressed in kashaya performs Aarti in the evening with 51 lamps. The campaign, launched in 2011, was inspired by Varanasi and Haridwar events.

Harmandir Takht Sri Patna Sahib, popularly known as the Patna Sahib Gurdwara, is one of the holiest pilgrimages to the Sikh community.

Situated on the sacred river Ganga banks, this gurudwara was built in Patna, Bihar, to commemorate the tenth Guru of the Sikhs, Shri Guru Gobind Singh.

Srikrishna Science Centre

Built in 1978, the Srikrishna Science Centre showcases an excellent collection of exhibits demonstrating various scientific principles. It is especially popular with children and offers an exceptional educational tour.

Revolving restaurant

Patna’s tallest tower is located on the 18th floor of the Biscoman Building and has the country’s largest revolving restaurant. As a set, the restaurant takes a turn in 45, 60 or 90 minutes with the support of German techniques.

Golghar

Golghar was a beehive-shaped building that served as a storehouse. Captain John Gerstein built it in 1786, and it offered a panoramic view of the entire city along the Ganges.
