The Dalai Lama inaugurated the recently constructed Buddha Smriti Park in May 2010. The Patliputra Karuna Stupam adorns the park with its large dome and is the centre of attraction here.
Patliputra Karuna Stupa is one of the eight remains excavated from Vaishali. The park is beautifully designed and built with state-of-the-art facilities combining modern architectural queues with traditional Buddhist designs.

The exhibition tells the story of Bihar from the Ramayana to the independence of Kunda.
The meditation centre was designed and built in the style of the monasteries and monasteries in Nalanda. There are about 60 cells in the special and exclusive facility where you can go and meditate.
Each of these rooms offers a view of the stupa containing the relics of Sakyamuni Buddha. It also has a library of Buddhist books and an audio-visual hall.

The centre and highlight of the Buddha Smriti Park is the stupa containing the relics of Sakyamuni Buddha. The remains were deposited in a glass enclosure. The building is three storeys high and is open to the public.
The garden contains specimens of sacred Bodhi trees and fully grown trees collected from Bodh Gaya in India and Mahameghavana Anuradhapura in Sri Lanka.
Indira Gandhi Planetarium
The Indira Gandhi Planetarium locates in the Indira Gandhi Science Complex in Patna. The Bihar Council built it on Science & Technology at a total cost of Rs 11 crore.
It had designed by Bihar Chief Minister Shri Satyendra Narayan Sinha in 1989, laid the foundation stone in October 1989 and was inaugurated on March 21, 1993, by the then Bihar Chief Minister Shri Lalu Prasad.

Best time to visit
Winter (October-March) is the perfect time to visit Patna and other parts of Bihar. Summer is very hot, and sightseeing and activities are not possible.
