History of Aranmula Parthasarathy temple:

According to mythology, Arjuna built the shrine as a punishment for murdering Karna. It is unethical to murder an unarmed fighter.

The image of Parthasarathy present at the Aranmula Parthasarathy Temple has a history. Arjuna did not want to fight Bheeshma during the epic Mahabharata battle.

Lord Krishna became enraged and raised his discus. Bheeshma gave up after seeing this. At the temple, there is a statue of Parthasarathy holding a discus. Vishvarupa is the name of the pose.

According to another legend, they transported the Aranmula Parthasarathy Temple picture on a raft. They used Six bamboo pieces to construct the raft. As a result, the temple is known as Aranmula. The word Aranmula translates to “six bamboo pieces.”

The temple is famous for wedding bookings; many people book their wedding slots there. Only Hindu marriage is allowed in this temple. The Mantap is present inside the temple premises.

Only one mandapam is present at the entrance of the temple. Online booking is not available for people. Booking is necessary to book the slot for the wedding at the temple.
