What is the perfect time to visit Alibaug?

November to March is the best time to visit Alibag and enjoy the beaches as the weather is dry and cool.

The monsoon season begins in June and lasts until September, so it is off-season. Also, the boat service between Mumbai and Alibag does not operate during the monsoon season.

It starts to heat up in March and is very hot till June. However, many families come here for summer vacations due to its proximity to Mumbai and Pune.

How to reach

Air: The Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport in Mumbai is the nearest major airport to Alibag, located 140 km away. You can reach Alibag by bus, car, cab, or boat.

Train: The nearest railway station to Alibag is Penn’s small town in the Raigad district of Maharashtra. Train services from Penn connect it to Panvel and Mumbai.

Road: Alibag is almost in the middle of the Mumbai-Goa Highway (NH66). Being a famous scenic coastal road, many tourists prefer to travel from Mumbai to Alibag. There are also regular bus services to Alibag from Mumbai, Pune, and nearby cities. These buses operate by public and private operators and are convenient for travel.

Waterways: The most famous and convenient way to reach Alibag is by ferry from Mumbai. The nearest jetty is Mandwa, which has regular catamaran and ferry services from the Mumbai Gateway. It takes an hour to reach the ferry and 20 minutes by speedboat. Mandwa Jetty is another 40-minute journey by Alibag bus, the price of which is usually included in the ferry ticket.
