Akshardham Temple Timings

History of Temple

The internationally renowned Swaminarayan Akshardham Temple was established on 2nd November 1992. The credit for laying the foundation of this place of worship goes to the Akshar-Purushottam Swaminarayan Society (BAPS) of Bochasanvasi.

This Temple illustrates the concept of human preparation. Devotees believe that only a person can shape his life and become wise in the true sense.

They used this belief, literature, music and cutting-edge technology to diversify architecture with great care and passion. The success of the shrine lies in the fact that it transforms a person into a human being.

The monument symbolizes the tremendous human effort that went into its establishment. Another factor is that the leader inspires many devotees through his teachings.

The famous Swami Maharaj created a monument and a rare blend of the Guru and disciples’ selflessness, attracting people worldwide. The creation of this incredible Akshardham temple is a great event in the history of India.

Significance

The inauguration ceremony of Swaminarayan Temple was held on the same day as the Yogiji Maharaj Centenary celebrations.

It was conducted only by the eminent Swami Maharaj. The Akshardham Temple in Gandhinagar is a magnificent monument carved out of 6000 tons of pink sandstone stained with sacred stillness.

This whole structure had been constructed without steel to maximize the maximum longevity of the architecture.

There is a 7-foot gold leaf idol of Swaminarayan and his sacred relics. In addition, there are three performances with light and sound shows in Indian culture.

The Akshardham Temple is 108 feet high, 240 feet long and 131 feet wide. In addition, the driveway around the monument is only 1751 feet (534 meters) long. This beautiful temple was constructed with 13 years of hard work.

In addition, skilled artisans from Bansipahadpur carved the sacred shrine. The shrine’s highlight is its research centre called the Akshardham Center for Applied Research in Social Harmony (AARSH).

The centre aims to use knowledge of the past, focus on the current model and create thought-provoking answers for the future.
