Talpagiri Ranganatha Swamy Temple Nellore: The main deity of this temple is Ranganatha Swamy along with his Consort Ranganayaki.This temple is built on the bank of Penna river in Nellore district. This temple is also known as Talpagiri Ranganatha Swamy temple or Ranganayakulu. Here Lord is lying on his Adisesha. Adisesha took the form of a Talpahill hence the name Talpagiri came.
History of Talpagiri Ranganatha Swamy Temple:
As per the legends, this temple was built during the dynasty of Pallavas in the 7th and 8th centuries. Simhapuri rulers put their efforts to built this temple. Later this temple was developed during 12th century A.D by the king Raja Mahendra Varma.On the main entrance of this temple, there is a Gali gopuram which is at a height of 70 feet and has seven 10 gold-plated vessels on top of it called as Kalishams.
The story behind Talpagiri Ranganatha Swamy Temple:
As per the legends, once Lord Maha Vishnu wants to visit Earth (Bhoolokam) along with his wife Sridevi. Vishnu asks Adisesha to be his residence while staying in Bhoolokam. Obeying to Lord Vishnu Adisesha took the form of a hill hence the name Talpagiri came.

- Morning: 6:00 am – 12:00 pm.
- Evening: 2:00 pm – 9:00 pm.

By Air: The nearest airport is in Tirupathi which is at a distance of 117 km.
On Rail: However Nellore railway station is near to this temple. So, from there you can reach by road thereafter.
By Bus: Psr bus station, Nippo center, and Nellore bus stations are nearest bus stations to Nellore. So from there, you can reach by local transport to this temple. However, APSRTC runs a number of buses from all major cities to here.
