About Ketaki Sangameswara Swamy Temple
Ketaki Sangameswara Swamy temple is in Jharasangam, Sangareddy District. The presiding deity of the temple is Lord Shiva with Goddess Parameshwari. The Sangameswara temple is an ancient temple with greenery and a beautiful atmosphere. Ketaki Sangameswara Swamy temple is also known as Sangameswara Swamy Temple. History of Sangameswara Temple
According to Krutha Yuga, there was a King Raja Kupendra from Surya Vamsham. He had skin disease for which there was no remedy. Once the king went to the forest for hunting where he found Ketaki Vanam. There he found a stream washed his body, surprisingly the skin disease was cured. On the same night, the king had a dream, in which Lord Shiva instructed him to build a temple. The king built the temple and the stream is Pushkarini consisting of 8 theerthas or “Astha Theertha Amrutha Gundam”. The Pushkarini is known as Dakshina Kasi.
It is said that after creating the World Lord Brahma visited this place for meditation. The Shiva Lingam was created by Brahma himself. The specialty here is, devotees offer Ketaki flowers and leaves to Shiva Lingam which are actually not offered to Lord Shiva.
