Sri Kalyana Venkateshwara Swamy Temple

Sri Kalyana Venkateshwara Swamy Temple is in Srinivasa Mangapuram, Tirupathi of Chittoor district.

The temple has the deity of Kalyana Venkateswara Swamy along with his spouse Sri Padmavathi Devi.


History of Temple:

After completion of Lord Venkateswara and Goddess Padmavathi ‘s wedding, they stayed here for a while instead of returning to Tirumala.

Meanwhile, they visited sage Agasthya’s ashram to have his blessing. Then Sage said to stay here in the ashram for 6 months.

Because newly married couples will never suggest to climb up a hill for months. For that reason, the couples stayed here for 6 months with the suggestion of sage.

During the time of sultans, the temple was damaged by them.

Afterwards the grandson of Annamacharya, Tallapaka Chinna Annamacharya again reconstructed this Sri Kalyana Venkateshwara Swamy Temple during 16 th century.

Finally, it came under TTD control in 1967.

Sri Kalyana Venkateshwara Swamy Temple Timings:

  • Generally, the temple opens at 5:30 AM and closes by 7:30 PM.
  • Additionally, Kalyanostavam timings are from 11:00 AM. The ticket cost is around Rs.500 for 2 persons.

  • Generally, the Sri Kalyana Venkateshwara Swamy Temple is very near to Tirupathi Bus Station and Railway Station. So, we can travel by local transport i.e Local Buses, autos and can hire a private vehicle too.
