History of Sri Desamma Temple:
Once an old woman was living in a timberland and gathers little twigs from trees. And she sells those twigs for a living. One day while gathering the twigs she slipped down on some thorny bushes, injured her eyes and lost her sight altogether. At that point, a little young lady came to her and revealed to her that on the off chance that she burrows the earth a bit, at the place called attention to by her, water would spout out from the same and she could sprinkle the water at her which would in a split second reestablish her sight. The old woman did as was told and lo, water in fact spouted from the place she had dug. Collecting the water she sprinkled it on her eyes and tsk-tsk in a jiffy her sight was wonderfully restored. As a thanksgiving, she chose to construct a sanctuary respecting the young lady, who is none other than Goddess Parvati.
Very little data is accessible with reference to when the sanctuary was fabricated, however, it should absolutely be a couple of hundreds of years old.
