History of Kshira Ramalingeswara Swamy Temple:
As per the legends, Saint Kaushik son Upamanya one day asks his mother to prepare milk rice but they were very poor and struggles for their daily needs. Due to their poorness, his mother advises him to pray for Lord Shiva. With her mother advice, he started praying to Lord Shiva with this Lord Shiva impress and granted his wish and fill the tank Kshetra Pushkarni with milk. So, from this, the name Ksheeraramam and Pallakollu came. People believe that Lord Vishnu install Shivalingam in this temple and Lord Rama perform first pooja to the Shiva lingam. Sri Chakram in this temple is installed by Adi Shankaracharya while passing through this town.
During the ruling of Chalukya dynasty, King chalukya bheema built this temple in the 9th century. The temple tower is 120 feet height with 9 floors.
