Khairatabad Church is the Shrine of Our Lady of Our Health, Hyderabad, Asia’s biggest octagonal church. It is one of Hyderabad’s oldest Roman Catholic churches and had dedicated to the Blessed Virgin Mary. It is near Mahaveer Hospital, Masab Tank, Hyderabad, in A.C. Guards, Khairatabad. In this church, the birthday of the confounded Virgin Mary had celebrated on September 8 every year. On the day and during the feast, lakhs of people see the shrine to pay their respects to the Blessed Virgin Mary.
Every year the celebrations start with the Flag Hoisting on August 29, after a Novena to Our Lady of Health is held daily in the evenings when a parish from Hyderabad or Secundrabad comes to host the Holy Mass. On the first Saturday of every month, a Holy Mass had conducted during the Statue of Our Lady of Health on the church grounds where Benediction takes place, and thousands of people attend the Mass.

The history of the Khairatabad church dates back to 1903 when Nizam VI, Mir Mahbub Ali Khan, permitted its construction on Army land. The church was to serve the needs of the Army personnel stationed at African Cavalry Guards after their return from Sholapur.

Khairatabad Church Feast:
The Annual Feast of Mary Matha (Mother Mary) will be celebrated here at the Shrine of Our Lady of Health at A.C. Guards, Khairatabad, on September 8 at midnight. The feast is the last part of a nine-day-long Special Novena Prayers, which began with the hoisting of the flag of Mother Mary on August 29.

On September 8, the birthday mass will be celebrated at midnight by the Parish priest of the shrine, Rev. Father Gopu Sunder Reddy, followed by Mass at 4 am, 5 am and 6 am. At 7 am, They will offer a religious group as well. Thumma Bala, the Archbishop of Hyderabad, will offer Pontifical High Mass in Telugu at 10.30 am.

The celebration of Mass usually lasts from 55 to 75 minutes. You are encouraged to stay until the priest and other ministers leave the church.
