The temple of Kedarnath, one of the 12 Jyotirlingas is in the bank of the Ganga river tribute Mandakini. The main deity of this temple is Lord Shiva in the form of Sri Kedarishwara Swamy. What are Kedarnath Darshan Timing

Due to the higher altitude location, the temple remains closed for 6 months every year. During that period the idol will replace and worship at Ukhimath. Generally, temple opens for half of the year from March to November. However, the opening day of Akshaya Tritiya and closing day of Karthika Purnima depend on the Hindu calendar. During the days of March to November the temple timings are

Morning timings: 4 AM – 3 PM

Evening timings: 5 PM – 9 PM

The temple remains closes from 3 PM to 5 PM.

Kedarnath Puja Details

Only during morning darshan, we can touch the Lingam which is the idol of Lord Shiva. Because the idol will adorn into an emperor during evening darshan.

  • Apart from these pujas, Badri Kedar Utsav will celebrate for 8 days during the month of June. In this Utsav, people will come from different places to perform devotional music and offer prayers to god.
  • However, the pujas will form in the same process but in the place of Ukhimath i.e from December to February.

Kedarnath Darshan by Helicopter

Helicopter darshan is also available to Kedarnath in one way and round trip also. The charges are

  • INR 7500/person (Up and down trip)
  • INR 4200/person (One-way trip)

However, only 4 -6 passengers are allowed to fly at once. This service excludes food, accommodation and darshan pass also. The pickup for this trip is at Phata Heli Pad.
