The Badrinath temple is located in the small town of Badrinath, Chamoli district, Uttarakhand. The deity of this temple is Lord Vishnu in the form of Sri Badrinath Swamy. Best time to visit Badrinath Temple:
As the temple is located in the areas of Himalayas, there will be extreme weather conditions at higher altitude. For that reason, the temple is covered by the snow for 6 months in a year. The temple authorities will not allow devotee during this time. However, they will announce a period of time to visit this temple to devotees. Because this may vary from year to year. Generally, the temple opens from end of April to the beginning of November which is around 6 months. So, the best time to visit Badrinath Temple is from May to November.
Badrinath by Helicopter:
Before getting into the helicopter trip, we have to reach Jolly grant airport which is the nearest airport to the temple. Frequent flights are available from Delhi airport to this airport. As most of the people will go to Badrinath from this airport through buses or taxi, there is also a separate airway to reach the temple i.e through helicopter.
These helicopter services are going at Sahastradhara, Dehradun. The helipad over there will take the people(advanced booking required) to the temple and return to the same place within 4 hours(approx.). Badrinath by Helicopter is the best way for the old people and those who are unfamiliar to travel long distances.
Badrinath by Train:
The nearest railway station to this temple is Rishikesh Railway Station. But this station is about 295 km away from the temple. So, buses and taxis also available from the railway station to the temple. However, frequent trains are available from different destinations to this railway station.

As this is a famous temple it has well-connected roadway to many other places around Uttrakhand state. Some of the driving distances from various places to the temple.
