Srikalahasti Rahu Ketu Pooja:

Srikalahasti Rahu Ketu pooja will be performed throughout the Rahu kalam timings. Pilgrims must check the Rahu Ketu pooja timings and should plan their visit during Rahu kalam timings so that they could the pooja at the temple.

The temple is always filled with pilgrims coming from all over the country. The Rahu Ketu pooja will be performed anywhere within the temple premises, the cost of the ticket will differ based on the pooja location. However, the benefits of pooja will remain same for all of them. Devotees need not bring stuff required for pooja (pooja samagri). As it will be provided at the ticket counter after purchasing the ticket.

The pooja will be performed in different batches according to Rahu Ketu pooja timings at mandapams and halls. There are different entry and exit doors in the temple, once the pooja is completed the worshippers can leave for the darshan of Lord Shiva inside the temple.

Everyone is allowed in the pooja hall, on a purchase of Rs.300 ticket. The priest will be giving directions on how to perform the pooja in three different languages Telugu, Tamil and English. Speakers are arranged so that the procedure is audible to each person. In case, if anyone doesn’t understand the procedure, they can take the assistance of temple staff standing who are standing nearby. Within 20-25 minutes the Rahu Ketu pooja will be completed. After the completion of Pooja, you have to carry silver idols and place in hundi which is inside of the temple.

Procedure to be followed at Rahu Ketu pooja:

  • One should sleep on the floor a day before to perform the Rahu Ketu pooja at Srikalahasti.
  • Wake up early in the next day morning and take bath, plan to reach the temple earlier than the Rahu Ketu pooja timings.
  • 100 feet away from Patala Ganapathi temple there are Idols at Rudra Padam, there you need to perform the abhishekam with 1-liter milk and do 3 pradakshinas. Rudra Padam is considered as the place where Rahu Ketu Kala Sarpa dosha is performed in olden days.
  • After the abhishekam is done, perform the Rahu Ketu Kala Sarpa Dosha pooja.
  • Please donate 3 meal packs to the poor after the completion of entire pooja.
  • Now you can leave home and take bath after reaching your place.
